Goddess Athena

Athena was one of the Olympian deities and the favorite daughter of Zeus. She was born fully armed from Zeus forehead after having an enormous headache that Hephaestus, Hermes, Ares and Prometheus helped relief by splitting his head open with the double-headed Minoan axe.

She is always depicted holding a shield, spear and wearing a helmet.

She was the goddess of wisdom, law and justice, crafts and arts, warfare, a prophet and the virgin patroness of Athens. The Athenians founded the Parthenon on the Acropolis of her namesake city, Athens, in her honor. Her Roman incarnation was Minerva.
